Every year, since 1955, a special international jury of design specialists is nominated and appointed to judge products coming from all over the world and bestow the coveted red dot design award, created by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, to a product selection able to stand out for their design excellence.

This year also Fimap took part to the competition obtaining, thanks to Mxr scrubbing machine, the international “red dot award: product design 2013”.

The jury evaluates the products admitted to the competition following specific criteria such as degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, self-explanatory quality and ecological compatibility.
Mxr elaborate and innovative design has deserved the positive evaluation of the jury, that this year has examined 4662 products from 54 countries.

The admitted categories include from furniture to automotive, from outdoor accessories to industry and crafts; within these categories there are those companies that believe in design as an added value for their product and that has chosen to invest to stand out in their sector, going beyond the functional aspect, to aim at a an accurate care for details, able to make the same product worthy of being remembered.

„Mxr is an important stage of Fimap history, it is a really revolutionary product and designing it we combined the experience gained in machines manufacturing with the will to create something new, a machine able to improve the approach with automatized cleaning, making it easier almost enjoyable, and giving more value to the phase of use and interaction of the operator with the machine itself”
 says Massimiliano Ruffo, CEO of Fimap and continues “we are very proud to become winners of the “red dot award: product design 2013”, with which also the long work and commitment spent on Mxr project is awarded. Mxr will be exhibited at Essen museum in Germany, housed in the remodelled boiler house of the Zollverein colliery, which is listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage industrial monument, and will be showed online at the official website www.red-dot.org/pd besides being part of the winners “red dot design yearbook 2013/2014”.
